A recent gathering in Madrid brought together faith communities, cultural voices and social actors to mark the World Day for Cultural Diversity. The meeting included a representative of the Bahá’í Community of Spain, Fernando Hernández Diversity of the Madrid Municipal Police Diversity Management Unit, flamenco artist Tito Losada, a Roma guitarist and composer, and Denise González. Speakers presented different experiences and viewpoints on how mutual knowledge can strengthen coexistence.
In the discussion, participants considered themes such as tolerance, social cohesion and the prevention of discrimination. Fundación Mejora framed the initiative with Scientology’s focus on human dignity and social betterment. Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to European and international institutions, noted that cultural and religious diversity contributes to democratic life when rooted in respect for human rights.
